The individuals in Will Lupens’ Neighbor collection of
short stories are voices one wants to hear. Whether narrated by the child of a
single parent or a UFO cult member, these voices communicate loss, fear and
humor. His “Mother of God” tale in Neighbor prompted literary critic
Erin Miller of “Salamander” to add in her review that “sometimes, the end
result is stunning … recalls the wonderful novel A Confederacy of Dunces
by John Kennedy Toole.”
